2010 - Learning a New Skill
Enrolled in bartending school while working full-time, hoping to create a better future of army family.
2011 - The First Event
Accepted my first bartending event and discovered the beginning of a journey I never expected.
2015 - More Than Cocktails
Realized guests weren't hiring drinks - they were inviting us to become part of their celebrations.
2020 - A Decade Behind the Bar
Thousands o guests, hundreds of events, and countless lessons that would eventually become The Final Pour.
2024 - The Story Becomes a Book
Began transforming ten years of memories, lessons, and relationships into a memoir.
It didn't begin with a dream of writing a book.
It began with a father searching for a way to provide for his family.
In 2010, I enrolled in bartending school hoping to learn a skill that could create additional income. What I discovered was something far greater than a second job.
Over the next decade, my wife Angila and I built Fuego Cocktails into a trusted private bartending business, serving weddings, birthdays, corporate events, and celebrations throughout California and Arizona. Along the way, we learned that hospitality was never really about cocktails.
It was about people.
Every event became an opportunity to create experiences, build relationships, and become a small part of someone else's story.
Those moments changed me.
The Final Pour is the result of that journey—a collection of stories about resilience, family, purpose, and the unexpected lessons found behind the bar.
I hope these pages encourage you to reflect on the people who have quietly shaped your own life, because sometimes the most meaningful lessons arrive where we least expect them.
